Local Bookstores in Arlington Offer Curbside Pickup

Reading book while drinking coffee

Attention, avid readers! If you want to discover new books and connect with other readers, local bookstores near our Arlington, VA apartments are hard at work to make that happen. From curbside pickup to virtual events, here are a few of our favorite local bookstores in Arlington.

One More Page Books

Local treasure One More Page Books is exploring several avenues to keep you reading at home. Call during their phone hours to order delivery or curbside pickup. You can also attend one of the many virtual events on their roster. Virtual romance, mystery, fiction, and non-fiction book clubs meet monthly. Keep an eye on their calendar for special virtual book launch events.

For a fun change of pace, try one of their surprise boxes. Answer a series of questions and an employee will hand-select a grab bag of books for you.  Then complete your curbside pickup order with something for your sweet tooth. One More Page Books sells a variety of gourmet chocolates, including chocolate coconut clusters and milk chocolate sea salt caramels.

Solid State Books

Solid State Books aims to bring readers, writers, artists, and activists together through their love of reading. Right now, they are continuing to spread their love of reading via curbside pickup. After placing your order, the store asks that you wear a mask and stay in your car until you receive a message that your order is ready. Those who wish to show additional support can purchase Socially Distanced Tree apparel. These T-shirts, hoodies, and tanks feature the work of artist Leah Lavin and profits help Solid State Books remain open and able to serve their customers.

Book Bank

In the coming weeks, Book Bank will begin to welcome customers back inside the store with mandatory masks and appropriate social distancing. They call this new phase of reopening “Book Bank Reloaded.” The store owners have purchased more books and redesigned the layout of their store to help customers safely maintain distance. The bookshop will continue to offer individual shopping by appointment, as well as curbside pickup on Mondays and Thursdays.
