During the most wonderful time of the year, get into the seasonal spirit by venturing out to view holiday lights near Arlington. These drive-thru Winter Wonderlands aren’t far from our Arlington apartments, so they’re easy to enjoy. Here are two holiday light displays you don’t want to miss:
Bull Run Festival of Lights
The Bull Run Festival of Lights in nearby Centreville is a can’t miss spectacle. It runs all the way from November 6th to January 10th, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy this festive drive. As you make your way down the 2.5-mile path, you’ll see a wide range of sparkling lights and displays. There are a few new pieces added annually, but part of the fun is enjoying the old favorites.
Fees vary according to how many people are in each vehicle. Proceeds benefit the beautiful Nova Parks system.
Sandy Point State Park
Just 45 minutes east of Arlington, the Lights on the Bay attraction in Annapolis is worth the drive. During a two-mile scenic drive along the Chesapeake Bay, visitors will delight in animated and stationary displays lighting up the roadway.
The cost helps support the local SPCA. For an extra $5, you can purchase a pair of 3D glasses and displays will come to life. The event is open from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every evening from November 20th through January 2nd.
