Farmers’ markets are a great way to support local vendors and get your weekly grocery shopping done. Don’t worry if you’re not a chef – in addition to fresh produce, you’ll find prepared food vendors, bakeries, and coffee roasters. While the NOVA region has tons of farmers market options, we love the Arlington Courthouse Freshfarm market. This Arlington farmers market is just around the corner from our Clarendon apartments.

Easy to get to and featuring a huge diversity of vendors, it checks all of our boxes. The market is open year-round on Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 PM in the off-season (January – April) and from 8 AM to 12 PM the rest of the year. Qualia Coffee

Qualia Coffee is a local roastery based in the Petworth neighborhood of Northwest DC. Fortunately, they bring their small-batch roasted whole bean coffee out to you every weekend at the Courthouse Freshfarm market. With beans sourced from around the world, Qualia aims to get beans to customers within three days of roasting for optimal flavor. Qualia may just be the trick to starting your mornings off right this week!

Toigo Orchards

A 350-acre farm located in Shippensburg, PA, Toigo Orchards makes the trek every week to bring their delicious array of fruits and vegetables to the market. The team at Toigo makes every effort to pick produce within 24 hours before it arrives at the market. In addition to fresh produce, don’t miss out on their unique prepared foods. The farm also offers tomato sauces, salsas, and pie fillings, which are available throughout the winter and early spring. 

Number 1 Sons

A local vendor of fermented favorites, Number 1 Sons is led by a sibling duo who offer everything from pickles and sauerkraut to kimchi and kombucha! The team sources the majority of its produce from local farms. Due to the local nature of the products, Number 1 Sons has long been a favorite of the DC, MD, and VA communities.
